Professional Information

Contribution to the scientific advancement

  • Studied the effect of gamma irradiation on off-flavour reduction of soybean.
  • Studied the molecular characterization of the promoter of gamma tocopherol methyl transferase gene in soybean.
  • Carried out nutritional profiling of diverse field pea and cowpea genotypes. Studied the differences in starch composition between vegetable type and grain type varieties of cowpea and field pea.

Current area of research

Exploring common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) genotypes for bioactive components associated with health promoting properties and flatulence.
