Functions

• Suggest research programmes based on national and global context of research in the thrust areas and guide Institute in formulating research projects with end –to-end approach within mandate and resources of the Institute. It should emphasize on increasing the linkage by identifying the areas of convergence with similar mandated Institutes.
• To review the research achievements of the Institute and to see that these are consistent with the mandate of the Institute.
• Act as the mentors of the Institute and guide in soft skills development for efficient writing of reports, highlighting outputs and impact, commercialization, and innovative approaches for handling IPR and Biosafety issues.
• Review the infrastructural facilities and requirements and make recommendations.
• Any other function that may be specifically assigned by the Director General, ICAR
