Professional Information

Contribution to the scientific advancement

  • Developed and released One Pigeonpea hybrid IPH 15-03 (NWPZ).
  • Developed and released Two Pigeonpea varieties namely, IPA 203 (NEPZ) and IPA 206 (Uttar Pradesh).
  • Developed and registered CMS lines namely, ICP 84023 A, CMS UPAS 120 A, CMS PA 163 A, CMS PDA 89-2E A, CMS Hy 4 A and CMS H 28B A.
  • Developed and registered resistant donors namely, IPA 8F (Sterility mosaic), IPA 9F (Wilt), IPA 15F (Sterility mosaic), IPA 16F (Wilt and sterility mosaic), IPA 204 (wilt and sterility mosaic) and IPA234 (Sterility mosaic).
  • Developed several genetic stocks possessing resistance to wilt and sterility mosaic with very good yield.

Current area of research

Since last >6 years coordinating the pigeonpea research and development in the country as Project Coordinator of AICRP Pigeonpea.
