Three All India Coordinated Projects, each for Chickpea, Pigeonpea and MULLaRP (Mungbean, Urdbean, Lentil, Lathyrus, Rajmash and Pea), are involved in strategic and applied research, and demonstration of technologies developed through the coordinated efforts for increasing and sustaining production of respective crops in the country. The headquarter of all these AICRPs is atIndian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur. These projects are operated through different centres located in various agro- ecological zones of country. The research centres under AICRPs have been playing a crucial role in improvement of respective crops not only as testing centres but also as major contributors of technologies for testing across the country.
