Professional Information

Contribution to the scientific advancement

Identified several donors (DPPA 85-1, DPPA 85-7, DPPA 85-8, DPPA 85-12, and DPPA 85-13) for Fusarium wilt (Fusarium udum, race-2) and Phytophthora stem blight (IPAB 7-2-1-7, KPBR 80-2-1, IPAC-79 and IPAC 3) resistance. Dr. Mishra has been reported Stem rot disease in pigeonpea from India in 2014-15 and recently (2017-18) he reported same pathogen on wild pigeonpea (Rinchosia brachiata). He identified potential isolates of Trichoderma harzianum, T. asperellum, T. longibrachiatum and developed a talc based formulations i.e. Dalhanderma (IIPRTh-31) and Dalhanderma-1 (IIPRTh-1).

Current area of research

Host Plant Resistance, Characterization of Pathogens, Biocontrol of Pulses Diseases with major focus on Pigeonpea.
