ITMU Cell
At IIPR under the guidance of ICAR, Krishi Bhawan the ITMU is established and taking care all the cases/ procedure related to Intellectual Property (IP) as per ICAR guidelines of “Intellectual Property Management and Technology Transfer/ Commercialization” which is effective from Oct 2, 2006.
Aims & Objectives
- To accelerate technology development and utilization between IIPR and entrepreneurs for commercialization of agri technologies.
- To develop business policy and planning for commercialization of technologies.
- Creating methodologies to identify research priorities that can bring economic gains through commercialization
Mandate
- To create awareness about IPRs in IIPR.
- Guide the researches in respect of protecting their inventions and other IP’s.
- Active assistance in preparation and drafting of Memorandum of Understandings (MoU’s).
- To provide prior art search/ patent search to Scientist/ Researchers of the Institute.
- To provide prior art search/ patent search to Scientist/ Researchers of the Institute.
- Identification of potential technologies of the institute which is capable for IPR protection/commercialization.
- To procure and provide latest books dealing with different aspects of Intellectual Property Rights.
- Database management of institute IP’s i.e registered varieties and germplasm, success stories, contract research etc.
Constitution
A high powered committee viz., Institute Technology Management Committee (ITMC) also exists to take the final decision on commercialization of technologies generated at Institute. A composition of the committee is:
